Orthopedic Surgeons Austin

A close-knit group of orthopedic surgeons established our Austin practice to share their respective specialties of the spine, upper/lower extremities, and total joint replacement. David Dodgin, M.D. – Hip & Knee

David Dodgin, M.D.Dr. Dodgin specializes in hip and knee replacement. He is well-versed in minimally invasive procedures, arthroscopic techniques, and complex surgery. Previously, he developed advanced replacement programs and computer navigation.

The board-certified surgeon completed orthopedic training at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. During his adult joint reconstruction fellowship at Roanoke Orthopaedic Center in Virginia, he gained exposure to advanced knee reconstruction techniques regarding arthroscopic ACL reconstruction and cartilage. He holds a medical degree from University of California, San Diego, and a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Additionally, Dr. Dodgin does consulting in surgeon training, instrument/implant design, and technique/manuscript preparation.

Andrew Ebert, M.D. – Foot & Ankle

Andrew Ebert, M.D.Dr. Andrew Ebert specializes in the foot and ankle. He is experienced in the latest surgical techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, arthroscopy, joint replacement, fusions, osteotomies, ringed external fixation, and complex conditions.

During a fellowship at OrthoCarolina O.L. Miller Foot and Ankle Institute in North Carolina, Dr. Ebert sub-specialized in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. He graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch, and completed his orthopedic residency at Baylor College of Medicine.

The board-certified surgeon is a clinical assistant professor for the University of Texas Medical Branch. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, he speaks Spanish fluently.

E. Matthew Heinrich, M.D. – Total Joint Replacement

E. Matthew Heinrich, M.D.Dr. Matthew Heinrich specializes in joint replacement, from new, minimally invasive techniques to complex revision techniques; he focuses on reestablishing bone stock and joint mechanics. He also offers mini-incision hips, unicondylar knee replacements, and the use of unispacers for quicker recovery.

The joint replacement surgeon completed formal training at Baylor College of Medicine. After his residency, he concentrated on adult reconstructive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He holds degrees from Texas Tech School of Medicine and University of Houston.

Board-certified, Dr. Heinrich is a consultant and a clinical assistant professor for the University of Texas Medical Branch. His fellow orthopedic surgeons in Austin commend him for service in the Texas Army National Guard and Naval Air Reserves.

Robert Josey, M.D. – Spine

Robert Josey, M.D.Dr. Robert Josey specializes in comprehensive medical and surgical treatment of the spine. Areas of specialty include trauma, degenerative conditions, spinal deformity, tumors and infection in all age groups. He also treats ailments through injections, minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic procedures, kyphoplasty, disc replacement, computer navigation techniques, and extensive reconstructive procedures.

The fellowship-driven spine surgeon completed formal training at SpineCare Medical Group, after orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor. Previously, he graduated from Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas.

Board-certified, Dr. Josey is a clinical assistant professor for the University of Texas Medical Branch, and has lectured both domestically and abroad.

Edward Seade, M.D. – Shoulder

Edward Seade, M.D.Dr. Edward Seade specializes in the shoulder, with a focus on arthroscopic techniques and adult reconstructive surgery for maximum comfort and easier rehabilitation. He is one of a few surgeons nationwide to perform arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs.

Before becoming one of our OSA orthopedic surgeons in Austin, Dr. Seade was partner at Santa Fe Orthopaedic Associates and Chief of Orthopaedics at St. Vincent Hospital in New Mexico. Fellowship-trained in San Francisco, he completed residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and holds degrees from UT Southwestern Medical School and University of Texas.

The board-certified shoulder surgeon is bilingual, and is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Gregg A. Vagner, M.D. – Hand, Wrist, & Elbow

Gregg A. Vagner, M.D.Dr. Gregg Vagner specializes in the hand, wrist, and elbow. His expertise includes simple and complex disorders of the upper extremity, including endoscopic carpal tunnel release, congenital and pediatric hand surgery, complex reconstruction and joint replacement, rheumatic disease, athletic injuries, and complex traumatic injuries to the upper extremity.

The hand/wrist/elbow surgeon completed his fellowship at the University of Utah affiliated hospitals in Salt Lake City. He also holds degrees from Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery.

Board-certified, Dr. Vagner has lectured locally and nationally. He is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
