Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin Expands Services with New Sports Medicine Service Line and Physician
Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin (OSA), a premier orthopedic practice serving the Austin community for more than 20 years, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Conner Patrick, fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon, and the introduction of a new sports medicine service line. Dr. Patrick will begin seeing patients on Monday, September 21, 2026, bringing specialized expertise in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip.
The new Sports Medicine program expands OSA’s ability to care for athletes and active individuals of all ages and activity levels. Care includes treatment for acute, chronic, and overuse injuries affecting the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee, and Dr. Patrick will work closely with OSA’s physical therapists to provide coordinated care from diagnosis through treatment, rehabilitation, and return to activity. For high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, Dr. Patrick will also work closely with athletic trainers to coordinate treatment, rehabilitation, and a safe return to sport.
“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Patrick to OSA and introduce dedicated sports medicine care to our patients and community,” said Dr. Edward Seade, shoulder specialist, senior partner at Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin. “His expertise in treating sports-related injuries and commitment to helping patients return to the activities they enjoy make him an excellent addition to our team.”
Dr. Patrick completed dual undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Plan II Honors at the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, TX, and went on to earn his medical degree from UTHealth Houston | McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, OK, where he trained with the Oklahoma City Thunder and OU Athletics team physicians. Following his residency, Dr. Patrick received his advanced subspecialty training through a sports medicine fellowship at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, FL, widely recognized as one of the nation’s premier orthopedic sports medicine programs. During his fellowship, Dr. Patrick learned under Dr. James Andrews and trained in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques to preserve native joints and restore function. He also served as team physician for the University of West Florida and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, as well as assistant team physician for Florida State University and Auburn University.
Dr. Patrick treats a wide range of sports and activity-related injuries involving the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. From ligament tears and cartilage injury, to fractures, instability, and overuse conditions, he helps patients of all ages regain strength, mobility, and confidence. Whether weekend warriors or professional athletes, Dr. Patrick develops personalized treatment plans to address each patient’s unique needs and get them back to the activities they love.
He combines the latest treatments with a thoughtful, individualized approach to care. Whenever possible, Dr. Patrick emphasizes non-surgical solutions, but when surgery is needed, he is highly trained in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques designed to reduce pain, speed recovery, and support a safe return to sport, work, and daily life.
“I’m excited to join Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin and help bring dedicated sports medicine care to the practice,” said Dr. Patrick. “My goal is to help patients understand their injury, work to build the right treatment approach to achieve each patient's unique goals, and get patients back to the sports and activities that are important to them.”
Dr. Patrick is now accepting patients at Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin’s three office locations in Hyde Park, Lakeway, and Leander. To schedule an appointment, call 512.476.2830 or visit orthoaustin.com.
